The Lead Region Historic Trust focuses its work on structures surviving from the pre-Civil War era, but our expertise can apply to newer architecture, such as this 1873 rural schoolhouse, as well.  Attaching the red-roofed contemporary wing at a distance and lower profile maintains the integrity of the original schoolhouse while allowing for full modern residential comforts.  The eventual sale of this historic, unique, prairie home will support the ongoing work of the Trust.
